Catechism...............................(See
Pastor Donovan's article - click here.)
Who:
Students in grades 6 through 12
When: Every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (September through May)
Where: Room assignments published each year
Parents
are encouraged to take an interest in what their children are
learning in catechism. The teaching of our covenant youth is a
joint effort of the parent, church and school. As parents we need
to be aware of what our youth are learning and to encourage them
to be diligent in their homework and to show respect for their
teachers and one another in the classroom.
We
pray that catechism in what we believe concerning our Lord and
Savior
Jesus Christ will be meaningful for our youth. We pray also it
will give them the desire to show their gratitude to Christ in
service to Him each day of their lives
The
6th graders will be be introduced to Biblical doctrine by way
of A Beginning Course in the Compendium of Reformed Doctrine.
7th
through 10th graders will study the Heidelberg
Catechism with the help of the workbook I Belong.
11th
graders will study through the Canons
of Dort and the Belgic Confession.
12th
graders will begin defending the faith, studying and applying
Christian apologetics, by working through R.C. Sproul's Lifeviews.

Halfway
through the morning worship service, children ages 3-5 years are

at helping young children transition from their nursery experience
into attending Sunday worship with their parents. This
program does not take the place of Sunday School. We hope all
3-5 year olds will attend our fine Sunday School program at 10:50
am (September through May).

The name GEMS stands for Girls Everywhere Meeting the
Savior. Our club's motto is found in Micah 6:8: "He has
showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require
of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with
your God." This year's GEMS theme will be "Walk
the Micah Road".
In
our meetings we will do a variety of activities. Each grade level
will explore, discover, and learn more about God's world, and
how God has gifted each one. When we meet together to study the
Bible, praise God, work on our lessons, badges, and crafts, our
GEMS Club is in training to put their faith in action serving
and sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

Cadet
Corp
Who: Boys in grades 3 through 8
When: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm (September through
May)
Where: Church Classrooms & Cadet Room
Head Counselor: Rob Balt
We
are a Christian "Boy Scout" type club. The Cadet Corps
is a nationwide organization which began in the mid-1950's. For
many of our activities, boys are separated into grades (cadres).
Our meetings consist of a general assembly, individual cadre Bible
lessons, craft/merit badge work, game time, and snack.
Some
of the special events we have planned include a full-club campout
and our Annual Southern California Cadet Field Day in the Fall,
as well as other outings in the Winter and Spring.
We
are confident the Lord will again bless both counselors and cadets
as we spend time together serving Him.

donation: $25
