Adult Sunday School
Who:
Post high school
When: Sunday at 11:10 am (September through May)
Where: Calvin Christian High School (CCHS) Library
Leader: Dr. Robert Godfrey (assisted by Rev. Steven Oeverman)
A time of fellowship over coffee and treats begins immediately
after the morning worship service. Class begins at 11:10 am and
is dismissed in time for parents to retrieve their children from
Sunday School classrooms. This year Dr. Robert Godfrey will continue
to lead us through the Gospel according to Luke.
We
Believe (Adult Catechism)
Who:
All adults

We
always living according to what we really believe; no matter what
we say we believe. Join us for this invigorating and challenging
interaction with the Word of God through the Belgic Confession.
This mini-systematic theology touches on the major doctrines revealed
in the Word of God - from Creation to the Last Day - and how they
inform the Christian life.
Christian Fellowship
Who:
Singles or couples over 40
When: 2nd and 4th Thursdays, 7:30-9:00 pm (September through
May)

All
singles and couples over 40 years of age are invited to join with
us for a time of study and fellowship. Join us this year as we
consider "interesting topics from the Scriptures".
The forum is open for church members to present and then lead
a discussion on a topic of their choice. Our meetings are opened
with singing and prayer, followed by the Bible lesson and refreshments.

Break/Story Hour
Who: Women and young children
What: Bible study and outreach ministry

Our
primary purpose in Coffee Break is to reach out to women from
our community and to women within our own church who are in need
of a basic Bible study and Christian fellowship. If
you are new to our church, like to study God's Word and meet other
women, then please come to be a part of our fellowship.
Every
Thursday morning we gather for singing and praise, then break
into small groups for prayer and study. This year we plan to study
the book of Mark. We are sure that the lessons will be a blessing
to those who attend.
Do
you know someone who is lonely, needs a friend and is searching
for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ? Please bring them
along with you to Coffee Break! We
have a nursery staffed with loving women and an exciting Story
Hour program for 2-5 year olds.
Fellowship
Groups

Fellowship
groups consist of 7 to 8 families or singles that meet once every
one or two months at a time and place that is convenient for the
group. These groups provide a wonderful time to get together with
other believers to share our lives with others who share our faith.

Inductive
Bible Study

This
year will be an in depth study of the Gospel of John.This
Bible study requires from 2 to 5 hours of preparation every two
weeks.
Men's
Bible Study (Understanding the Book of Romans)

Adult men

The
Book of Romans has been one of the most influential books of God's
Word. With the help of Modern Reformation magazine, our men's
Bible study will take a walk down the "Romans Road"
in six sessions. This foundational study will set the stage for
a follow-up study in the Spring that will focus on some of the
practical implications for your life as a Christian man.
Project
Philip
Who: Adults
When: Every other Tuesday from 9:00 - 11:00 am (year 'round)
Where: Social Hall

Project
Philip is an outreach organization that places New Testament Bibles
in hotels/motels, and supplies Christian literature to jails and
hospitals. Distributed
literature includes a mail-back postcard offering enrollment in
our free children and/or adult Bible study (in both English and
Spanish). Those who return their enrollment cards are sent a Bible
lesson. Returned lessons are corrected and then the next lesson
is mailed back to them.
Volunteers
are always welcome to help prepare literature and Bibles for distribution,
or to correct the Bible lessons. In addition to the camaraderie
and refreshments, we take time to join together in prayer for
this outreach. Even though we meet from 9:00 to 11:00 am, come
join us when you are able to get there, and leave when you need
to leave.

Willing Hands
Who:
Anyone
When: 1st Thursday of the month from 11:30-3:30 (see bulletin)
What: Sewing and craft projects for charity
Where: Social Hall

Our
projects are to sew receiving blankets and easy quilts for needy
infants and children. Anyone who would like to help cut bagric
or batting, pin, iron, hand or machine sew is welcome to join
us. Our blankets will be delivered to Alternative Pregnancy Care
Center, a shelter for homeless and battered women and children,
Mexico Project, and where needed.
Women's
Bible Study
Who: Women of all ages
When: 1st and 3rd Wednesday, 7:30-8:30 pm (October through
May)
Where: Council Room
Leaders: Nettie Brouwer, Daphne Jasperse, and Debby Rau
We
enjoy refreshments and a time of prayer to begin our study. This
year we will consider "Redemption: The Triumph of God's
Great Plan"; a study aimed at helping to understand each
part of the Bible in its relationship to the grand design of God's
determination to save the world through Jesus Christ who is the
focal point of all Scripture. Don't miss out on this wonderful
opportunity for warm fellowship and for gaining helpful perspective
on the whole of Scripture - God's perspective that will aid your
every study of God's Word.
Youths
of Yesterday
Who:
Senior Citizens
When: One Tuesday a month at 10:30 (September through May)
Where: Social Hall (there are some outings)

We
bigin with coffee-time before starting the meeting with singing
a few songs and having devotions led by a minister, a professor
from Westminster Seminary, or a student intern. We have lunch
together and after lunch, we often have children from Calvin Christian
School singing for us or some other program. Anyone 55 or older
is welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.
