Parents are primarily responsible for training their children in the truth of Scripture. Members of the church assist one another in this important duty. Parents are therefore encouraged not only to be aware of what their children are learning, but also to urge and assist them in their learning; helping them prepare for each week’s lesson so that they can participate fully and talking with them about what they have learned so as to help establish them in it.

The 6th graders will continue using an overview of the Heidelberg Catechism through A Beginning Course in the Compendium of Reformed Doctrine.

The 7th and 8th graders will begin working through the book I Belong (Vol. I & II); and in depth and practical study of the Heidelberg Catechism.

The 9th and 10th graders will re-use the catechism books I Belong to review and delve deeper into the Heidelberg Catechism.

The 11th graders will discover the Canons of Dort and the Belgic Confession using the books But for the Grace of God by Cornelius P. Vennema and Everything in Christ by Clarence Stam, as well as continue memorization of some of the Heidelberg Catechism.

The 12th graders will be helped to “bring it all together” and encouraged to express what they believe and why they believe it.
